Healing complex trauma: your body, mind, spirit, and everything in between

Your rational, analytic mind can only take you so far in healing from complex trauma. Your body holds wisdom that can help you actually embody a new way of living, rather than just strategizing about it. We draw on several somatic and body-based approaches, and we'll work together to find what fits your needs in this moment in time.

Is this you?

  • You logically know you want to change and are taking “all the right steps” in this direction, but you don’t actually feel progress or believe it’s possible

  • You get activated by “small” triggers and don’t understand why (and might even judge yourself for it)

  • You carry tension, anxiety, or numbness in your body and you suspect it's connected to something from the past, but it feels hard to reach

  • You experience headaches, back pain, digestive issues, or other chronic ailments that don’t respond to medical intervention

  • You’re confused by your body’s cues and feel disconnected from the felt experience of emotions

Our tools

Somatic relational work uses the therapeutic relationship itself as the healing environment. We track what your body is doing, what the field between us is doing, and how we navigate boundaries and connection.

Hakomi Hakomi is a mindfulness-based, somatic approach that listens to what the body already knows. We slow down and turn inward to notice postures, sensations, and quiet beliefs that shape how you move through the world.

EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique / Tapping) EFT pairs gentle tapping on acupressure points with focused attention on what's troubling you. It takes the charge out of difficult emotions and memories so they no longer run the show. It's a portable, embodied tool you can carry with you well beyond the session.

Somatic IFS (Internal Family Systems) is a gentle, meditative approach that works with relational energy in your body. It builds awareness and understanding of all parts of you, including physical and emotional expressions of your parts. Somatic IFS is a specific kind of IFS that uses body-based practices to facilitate these relationships.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) EMDR involves minimal talking, as it uses bilateral stimulation — rhythmic, alternating sensory experiences — that creates space for your nervous system to organically complete what it couldn't in the past.

We also offer ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP) for those looking to work with medicine as part of their healing process — reach out to learn more.
