Individual Therapy

Individual Therapy

45, 60, or 90 min sessions

Personalized one-on-one support guided by a treatment plan we create together. We’ll initially meet weekly as we develop a relationship and lay the foundation for our work. From there, we can meet weekly, biweekly, monthly, or as-needed. Sessions are offered virtually and/or in-person at our Brooklyn office.

Couples & Partners Therapy

Couples & Partners Therapy

60 or 90 min sessions

It takes thoughtful effort to live in partnership with someone. Conflict is inevitable, and that’s okay. We help partners learn how to fight fairly and communicate with empathy, so every interaction turns into an opportunity to learn and grow. We’ll work on finding common values, attuning to one another, negotiating individual & shared needs, and cultivating intimacy in a safe, affirming way. We are LGBTQIA+, ENM/poly, and kink friendly.

You may be wondering…

  • Simply submit a request on the “Contacts” tab. We’ll follow up by connecting you with a recommended therapist who will schedule a free 15-minute phone consultation with you to ensure it feels like the right fit.

If it feels aligned & you’re ready, you’ll schedule your intake session on the call.

  • During your first session, we’ll use the whole hour to conduct an intake assessment. We’ll identify your most pressing concerns, assess current environmental factors, and learn more about your background. We’ll finish by identifying 1-3 goals for you in therapy. It’s a lot of information-gathering, so it’s a bit more structured than other sessions.

  • Sessions can be as structrured or unstructured as you like. Talking is a part of it, but we also emphasize experiential work (like meditations, somatic practices, exposures/experiments, visual demonstrations, creative expression, guided trauma work, etc).

We’ll have time at the start to decide where we want to go, and time at the end to reflect on what we learned.

  • Everything you say in our session is confidential unless you’d like us to collaborate with other providers or loved ones - in which case, we’ll get your written permission for doing so.

Also, if your therapist feels strongly that there is a risk serious harm to you or another person, we’re required by law to disclose this to the appropriate people or institutions — but this is our last resort. We take a lot of preventative steps to protect your confidentiality and connect you with community supports before involving more professional/institutional care.

  • We require the first 4 sessions to be at least weekly in order to establish a solid foundation for our work. After that, you and your therapist can talk about what cadence would feel most supportive for you.

If you’re meeting less than biweekly, we may need to schedule you on varying days and times.

  • For as little or as long as you’d like. Some people like to keep therapy open-ended, some like to have set goals or progress they’d like to achieve before ending, and others want a specific, time-limited treatment approach (especially for EMDR and intensives). We work with it all.

  • We accept credit card, cash, Venmo, Zelle, HSA/FSA, and PayPal, and payment is due at the time of service. We keep one credit card on file but can change your payment type whenever you’d like.

  • The relationship with your therapist is one of the most intimate relationships you’ll have. Because of that, it takes time to foster trust, build connection, and find a therapeutic flow that works well for you. Some uncertainty and discomfort is necessary in the process of growth, but you also should feel supported, challenged, and resourced.

If at any point you feel stuck, uncertain, or like it isn’t the right fit, let us know. We don’t want to keep you in something that isn’t working, but we also want to be involved in exploring your feelings & helping you weigh your options.
